Farming operations often depend on manual recordkeeping. While such records help farmers monitor specific production tasks, they are difficult to aggregate and analyze comprehensively. Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies offer the potential to digitize these logs efficiently and accurately. This project aims to adapt and apply AI-based tools that can automatically extract relevant information from hand-written records, linking production strategies to their outcomes.
We are seeking a Master’s-level candidate to lead a project applying AI-based tools to extract and analyze production and health data from handwritten logbooks of animal systems in Quebec. The ideal candidate will have experience using deep learning and generative AI (GenAI) techniques to process unstructured data and convert it into actionable insights.
