A new Research Chair in Artificial Intelligence (AI) focused on animal health, production, and agri-food processing has been established at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. 

Its funding was granted by the Agri-Food Innovation Program of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), following a proposal by Pablo Valdes Donoso, Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences.This Chair will strengthen the work of the AI-Agrosanté Platform (PIAAS) on applied AI research in animal production and food production. It will also bring together specialists from various fields at the Université de Montréal (FVM and the School of Public Health), Polytechnique Montréal, Université Laval, and McGill University, in collaboration with strategic partners such as DSAHR, Olymel, Exceldor, Intelia, Cintech, Entologik, and Delimax.
