Publication of a new article with findings that could be used to develop a smartphone application
Paulo Steagall's team, in collaboration with AI-Agrosanté Platform (PIAAS) experts Majda Moussa and Miguel Sautié Castellanos, recently published a paper on the use of deep neural networks and machine learning models to predict facial landmark positions and pain scores using the Feline Grimace Scale© (FGS). These models have demonstrated excellent predictive performance and accuracy in the assessment of pain in cats, and can be used for the development of an automated smartphone application.
